This eye-care extension enables night mode by creating dark themes for websites on the fly. Dark Reader inverts bright colours to make web pages high contrast and easier to read.
Adjust brightness, contrast, the sepia filter, font preferences. Enable dark mode on every web page or give websites a sepia tone. Enable or disable Dark Reader for specific websites, automatically sync with system dark mode, or detect already dark websites and leave them unchanged.
This is the original Dark Reader extension. Since 2014, we continuously evolve alongside modern web technologies to deliver fast and reliable dark mode support for people sensitive to bright light.

I actually did not expect this to be as great as it is 10/10 my g
I never review extensions, but I had to after coming across this wonderful addition. As someone with a migraine disorder, it can be extremely hard to navigate through the internet since most sites use a light theme. With this, I don't have to worry as much about triggering a migraine from the light since it makes pages so much easier on the eyes. Some pages slip through but for the most part sites are converted to a darker theme. Even for people who don't suffer from migraines or headaches, it can definitely help to reduce eyestrain and I recommend it to everyone!

It works but it slows the browser down a lot. Switching tabs, opening and refreshing pages etc. all get a lot slower with it active. I guess the page has to load, the extension checks it and then loads a new style sheet and it re-renders.

Wow, where has this plugin been all my life? I was using Stylish previously, but a lot of the sites didn't have styles, or you could install for the site, but couldn't use them, or the styles had issues. With this, all sites tested so far look great, thank you for saving my eyes DarkReader!
