What's New in 3.0:
==================
* Updated to Manifest V3.
Before Chrome 52, the backspace key navigated back (if you weren't writing text). Many people lost their progress while working online by accidentally pressing backspace and leaving a page -- so we removed the feature from Chrome, and created this extension for those who prefer the old behavior.
This extension can't restore backspace on certain special pages, for example any of the "chrome://" pages such as Settings or Extensions.

A feature I use all the time (especially without extra mouse buttons available), this should be a configurable browser option instead of an extension!

Works ok. But could use an option to temporarily turn it of as it not always recognizes a text field.
This makes me go back a page even when typing...welp, Firefox is cool
Why we need to give weird permissions to use Backspace button?
this extension does not work. This is Bullshit
Doesn't work. Nice idea though. I really miss the backspace to go back feature. Once I discovered it, I was hooked on its simplicity. No more using a trackpad to clumsily navigate to the back button. I appreciate you trying to re-add it in the form of an extension for us heavy users of this former feature but it just doesn't work. Will try a different version.
I HATE that I had to install this extension, as a strongly user of the backspace. What about an option in chrome://flags/ instead?! Anyway, it does not work on this very page and in Google Search, how funny.
Why would you completely remove a legacy feature, replace it with a completely intuitive SET of keys and not give the option to re-enable it. Google is lucky it is far too late to migrate to Firefox for me as for the extention, it didn't work on about 70% of the pages I frequent
