Go back with the backspace button! This extension re-enables the backspace key as a back navigation button -- except if you're writing text.

What's New in 3.0:

==================

* Updated to Manifest V3.

Before Chrome 52, the backspace key navigated back (if you weren't writing text). Many people lost their progress while working online by accidentally pressing backspace and leaving a page -- so we removed the feature from Chrome, and created this extension for those who prefer the old behavior.

This extension can't restore backspace on certain special pages, for example any of the "chrome://" pages such as Settings or Extensions.

*Hits backspace 3 times* Chrome: Try hitting Alt+Left Arrow What kind of backwards thinking lead you to remove the functionality of a button, to replace it with a reference to desired functionality on another button. This is in any regard, the DUMBEST implementation I have ever seen in any software... EVER. This review is ambivalent, I am satisfied that I can once again hit the backspace key... But I really want to downvote completely because of the need to actually have this plugin.

This was the basic standard function, shame on Google that has taken this out and provides a tool to regain the basic functionality it should be the way around.

Google, you're getting a 1-star rating on this extension because, like so many others have said, this is just nonsense. We shouldn't have to get an extension which will likely slow down the browser to simply use a feature that should have never left or been removed. Perhaps a setting or on/off toggle would have done the trick.

Works like Chrome should have continued to work from the Get-Go. I'm all for improving on design but disagree with not only moving cheese, but also removing it completely and telling us after we are lost in the maze. Source code is available to ensure you are not installing malicious extensions that steal your data and hand it off to someone. Appreciate effort to put this back and wish that it had been left in or turned into a basic setting to go with all the others (this is the only current browser I know of that has changed a hotkey that has always been used to go back). PLUS, if you want to, you can read the source code and find out how to implement your very own customized hotkey replacement/swapper utility for Chrome ( i know that some people have commented about wanting such a feature in the 21st century browsers ).

Should have been an option in chrome at the very least, no need for an extension.

Поддерживаю! Верните Bacspace в гугл хром, расширения только грузят процессор лишними процессами. Процессор буквально захлебывается от процессов
