Reader View extension brings Mozilla's open-source Readability implantation to Chromium. Using this extension you can strip clutters from webpages and read them on "Reader View" mode. The extension allows you to toggle between normal view and reader view by pressing the page-action button.
Note that reader view mode works best for web pages that have a lot of content. There are some tools in the left side panel that can help you personalize your Reader View. You can change color, background-color, font-size, font-family and width of the reader view.

Reader View is an excellent reader. What's even more important than the details of whether it's a little better or a little worse than other readers is the privacy policy. "Does not collect user data". This is the kind of reader any user who cares about his or her privacy should be using. This compares to others like Clearly, whose privacy policy reads as follows: "clearlyreader.com built the clearlyreader.com service (including all apps we provided) as a Commercial service.The app does use third party services that may collect information used to identify you....third party service providers used by the app: Google Play Services, Firebase Analytics, Fabric, Crashlytics, Intercom, Sentry, Log Data."
I really like this extension. It really helps to simplify webpages. I wish it gave a white background option, the "light" option is slightly grey and (while likely works very well on a tablet) looks off on my large monitor.
Was a blessing this app is for me! Can't wait to see what comes next!
good experience
Although I knew about this extension for a while, I started using the extension only today. Its amazing. I found the read-aloud feature extremely useful and helps you cover more than what you could in a single seating if you were to just read. One enhancement in this feature would make it much more useful. "Abbreviations should be read as separate letters instead of as a word." When you are only listening, this would give you a correct understanding of the article you are reading. Thanks a lot.
