It also adds a "Search Google for image" context menu item that will open the image results in a new tab.
Post-installation instructions for manually removing the old "Search image with Google Lens" context menu item (the one that opens results in the Side Bar) can be found at https://github.com/fanfare/disablegooglelens/blob/master/CHROME.md

It worked like a charm...until a few months ago. Now it doesn't work at all. Images dragged and dropped still go to Google Lens.
Doesn't work.
구글 렌즈 가면 갈수록 강요하는거 꼴받으면 꼭 깔아라.
I'm extra pissed off, because of all this extra steps I need to do to combat google "quality of life improvements", but only thanks to people like you I have this simple option. God bless you, guys!
what I was look for, excellent! now Drag & drop links from google search results is working well again und google lense does not interact in a not wanted way.
Bless you!
Shows the image results in the lens side bar. Nice solution.
Doesn't work (Chrome Version 108.0.5359.99 (Official Build) (32-bit) Windows10). Brings up a completely blank page called "http://lens.google.com/(long string of characters)" so it's still using google lens, not disabling it as it's title states. Is there an actually working extension to actually let me use the REAL google image search that has nothing to do with the completely useless "lens" site? (that old search function still works perfectly on a much older version of chrome)
Very useful! One downside that I've noticed for the 'Google (w/o Lens)' sidebar fix is that it blocks certain other features, such as Google Translate, but I'd rather learn to live with the sidebar than Google Lens
