High Contrast lets you browse the web with your choice of several high-contrast color filters designed to make it easier to read text.
When you install this extension, all pages are "inverted", so black becomes white and white becomes black. Press the "browser action" icon in the toolbar to toggle it on and off, or customize your settings on a per-site basis. Use a convenient keyboard shortcut to quickly change your settings while your browse.
Other extensions try to change the default colors, but this ends up breaking many popular websites. Only this extension applies filters to your page that invert almost everything - the only exception is photos, which are left alone.
Also note that the Chrome web store and other built-in pages like the New Tab page and Settings pages are unaffected - extensions like this one are not allowed to modify them, by design.

A customisable colour filter applied to web pages to improve colour perception.
It doesn't work on facebook which was the site I want it for.
Does not work with Drive
Loved it until the recent update... Even though I have this enabled RIGHT NOW this very page is white with black text. So please change the name of this extension because it DOES NOT INVERT THE COLORS OF YOUR PAGE. Please stop helping web pages assault my vision with your crappy extension.
wonderful extension. however, stop working recently (2014?) on facebook/youtube where most effective :)
i didn't like the fact that it also altered photos and videos and that the scrolling gained lag when enabled
its inverting everything including images colors. if there is any next version inverting background & text only i'd download it .... the fact you didn't improve this at all makes it much worse than expect,,, I've posted this review year ago and nothing changed
Just added High Contrast and Deluminate (great word;; spell checker hates it) Poor vision, majorly far-sighted and can't handle glare of any sort. I'm hoping this helps lots. I'll have to review it again after a few days, unless it's all wrong and I know immediately; I'm optimistic! Thanks to those whose-brain child this is! Appreciate all your efforts! cio K
Great, but I want Gray on Black Schema.
Almost unuasbla. It doesn't have a "Help" user guide~~the drop down box for the H/C Extension selections is truncated~~it works on some sites & not on others~~it hides boxes & active links & buttons & text~~it splits up framing...horrible. I'd pay anything for an App that helped me reduce the horrid glaring, eye-searing white screens that burn out my eyeballs, kill contrast and make web browsing a strain. I did find an alternative by switching to MSIE and setting my Windows display scheme in 'Personalizations' to "High Contrast" which inverts colors and preserves most other browser/internet rendering. Keep It Simple, Stupid---Google Apps! KISS!
some problem with facebook floating bar
