Highly recommended - Must-Have Extension! Have been using this extension for years; it has so many useful features - basically YouTube exactly the way you want it. I've found it to be quite stable for a while now. Because there are so many features, there's a bit of a learning curve, but once it's set up you're good to go. Definitely worth investing the small amount of time needed; even if all you use if for is to reliably stop autoplay it's well worth it. I love that it's open-source and nonprofit, although keep in mind that patience might be required for updates. I use it in Chrome and Brave on Windows 11; the Export / Import features make it easy to keep my settings in sync no matter which browser I'm using. Couldn't live without it.
The best YouTube extension for Chrome - very few permissions, it cares about your privacy - useful features, but not bloated - easy to use - actively supported 5 stars well deserved!
it's great, but i wish you can add a feature to change thumbnails to a frame of the video instead, because thumbnails everyone uses now is a random image most of the time and has nothing to do with the video, just used to get attention. that would be a great and useful feature. thanks already the API can do it: by changing: https://i3.ytimg.com/vi/VideoID/0.jpg to: https://i3.ytimg.com/vi/VideoID/2.jpg see https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2068344/how-do-i-get-a-youtube-video-thumbnail-from-the-youtube-api
sehr nützlich, Beschreibungen können immer ausgeklappt angezeigt werden oder verwandte Videos ausgeblendet werden (um sie bei einer Präsentation nicht mit anzuzeigen)
Only feature that doesn't work is disabling up next in playlists, the next video still plays even though up next autoplay is disabled.
One of must have apps. I can't live without it. Some times there are some problems because youtube make updates/changes to their site, and after that app dev team have to make changes asswel. Big 5+.
