This is quite irritating. This extension relaxes this behavior.

Easy, simple, perfect. I'm lucky to have found this. Puts an end to Chrome downloading files instead of just opening them in a tab. It drove me nuts until I stumbled across this extension because I never knew what to search for to explain. Me happy.
works about 80% of the time. Doesn't work for e.g. https://www.haigekassa.ee/sites/default/files/Kiirabi/A5_tegevusjuh-skeemid_netti_0.pdf or any layout images on support.pckeyboard.com. which "No PDF Download" handles just fine. But being spared of 80% of the annoyance created by arrogant or clueless webmasters-webapps is still remarkable amount of peace-of-mind
Very useful thanks a lot! For a next update, it would be great to be able to disable the extension automatically for a list of website that each user would write.
