I love this thing. The art is beautiful. One suggestion: it would be nice if, in the info about the image at the bottom left corner, it would show the date the piece was created.

Hope there can be an option to show the bookmark bar when a new tap is opened with this Google Art Project extension. It's very inconvenient if bookmarks cannot be found in the new tab, but I also hate having the bookmark bar always on.

Looks amazing, but in recent tabs middle-click should open the link in a new tab, not in the currently selected one as if I left-clicked.

Provides cultural enrichment by showing a beautiful artwork each time a user opens a new Chrome tab, replacing the default new tab page

Extension overrides Chrome's new tab page (chrome_url_overrides). Background service worker fetches artwork data JSON from gstatic.com/culturalinstitute/tabext/imax_2_2.json and caches it. When user opens a new tab, the newtab page renders a curated artwork with title, artist name, and attribution. User can click 'Change' button to rotate artwork, click artwork description to visit Google Arts & Culture for details, or use settings to toggle top sites/apps buttons and artwork rotation frequency.
