Loving this extension. My work involves a lot of interruptions and task switching, which typically would lead to a chaotic mess of tab-overload-hell. Organising my tabs by work mode / project helps to switch context easily and keeps everything I need in view without additional clutter.
Will first start off by saying I'm an extremely heavy tab user. Without tab management I would normally have at least 100-200 tabs going at any one time, and often many more than that. I have a ton of RAM and I could get away with this, but obviously was not long term sustainable from an organization standpoint. I never dealt with bookmarks well in the past 30 years, always just found their usage and application annoying. Tabs give me fairly instant access to things that I use on a regular basis and allow me to process many inputs of info quickly. This brings me to Workona. After trying many tab org methods and plugins over the years I have to say this is now my current favorite. The workspace style is incredibly useful and has helped me organize my research projects so much more efficiently. Being able to quickly switch between spaces, saving RAM by temporarily closing unused tabs, and find resource tabs easily has been a huge deal for me. I had a bit of a rocky start with this extension when I first came to it two years ago, even stopped using it for a bit until the devs did some updates. But now after using full time for the past year I am heartily recommending this to anyone who uses lots of tabs. I'm using Workona on my 8 year old workstation laptop running windows 7 with 32GB of RAM.
I've managed to have a (record-breaking?) 2300 tabs open thanks to workona. 10/10 enabling my tab hoarding would recommend
It is awesome and I am loving it so far
Macht genau das, was es sagt. Kann ich nur empfehlen!
Excelente. Perfecta para mantener un navegador más limpio y eficiente. Muy productiva, de fácil uso y super cómoda.
I've used, Great Suspender, Tabli, Cluster, Tabbox, and a slew of other tab managing extensions that never quite provided the organization or convenience I wanted. Especially because I use windows 10 and I separate my work streams with new desktops. For example, one desktop is for all school related homework for one particular class, another desktop is for managing investments and looking at my brokerage etc. Using Workona I can pin and save tabs according to those desktop groups and then close them without worrying about losing anything because it autosaves. It lets me be as organized as I want to be, as well as as messy as I want to be. If I wasn't already using OneNote to do my task tracking and such I'd definitely find benefit in the task tracking and notes too. I personally don't see much benefit from the ability to share tabs/work etc, but I could imagine if you were a startup or were managing a small team and you wanted a free tool it could be useful but yeah. If you want a tab/work manager use this. Don't waste your time with the others, I've been searching for this type of solution for a couple of years and finally landed on it.
I really wanted to like this, and I hoped it would take the place of The Great Suspender while giving me more control over organizing my tabs by category, etc. Unfortunately, it will not suspend my tabs. If you manually suspend other tabs, it does it for ALL open windows, not just the other tabs in the active window, which is frustrating. I installed the additional Workona Tab Suspender extension, and that doesn't work properly, either (will suspend if I set it to do it after 1 minute, but I want to set it for an hour. It does not work.) So now I have two extensions weighing me down that aren't doing anything, and even though I have a lot of my tabs suspended manually, my computer performance is much slower than before when I was using The Great Suspender (and nothing else has changed about my setup.) I guess I'll have to look for something else. PS - For those of you who have issues with losing tabs (and know from experience that Chrome doesn't always reliably restore them), I strongly recommend Session Buddy! It's not a tab suspender or manager per say, but it records which tabs you have open and can restore them if they crash or you have to restart.
a perfect tool to organize all the tabs into different categories
Best Tab manager ever - Seamlessly became an integral part of my workflow!
