Initially was completely normal and highly helpful extension but with time became a dark-pattern extension that tried to extract as much value from users as possible with less-than-good methods. Recently started to spam users with uncalled, untrue popups about outdated browser versions and attempts to infect user browsers with even worse malware. Removed from browser and reported for abuse. Hopefully this gets taken care of by the Chrome team on a global level.

I have loved this extension for a couple of years now but starting yesterday it's been creating a pop-up asking me to scan for the newest chrome version, basically a malware link. I see many others are reporting the same thing I also notice recent positive reviews are all either the exact same text, extremely shilly, or somewhat gibberish. Along with responses to reviews mentioning the pop-up trying to defend it. I don't know whether the original creators just got really stupid or sold it to the people now doing this stuff but what a way to instantly kill your reputation. Uninstalling now.

I had been using this for a long time and had no previous issues. Recently I began getting a pop-up to warn me about my "out of date" Chrome browser along with a button to "scan for newer version". I sometimes get popups similar to this embedded in web pages and I advise our users to not click on them as they are often malware or spyware. Even if this one was well-intentioned, I think the developer used extremely poor judgment in adding this. Leave the update notifications to Google, please. This pop-up appeared and all I could think was "danger".

This used to be a good extension, but now has malware-like popups, saying that chrome is out of date. My browser is 100% up-to-date, so I'm not installing whatever they want me to install. do NOT download.

I used to love this extension, because as far as actual YouTube extensions go, it's awesome. However, like so many reviews here, I started getting popups from it stating that Chrome was out of date. To the developer: Yes, yes, "if you run a web browser that is out of date and which contains security blah blah" okay, cool and great and all, but that is not the purpose of this extension. This extension should deal with YouTube, and YouTube alone. The rest of Chrome is my concern, not a YouTube extension's concern.
