Also got a popup from this extension telling me my chrome was out of date and the link provided wasn't a Google update link. Maybe trying to install spyware?

that "outdated chrome" pop up is so annoying, is your extension got hacked or something? be careful for malware guys.
The fact that it opened my google and redirected me to download a new version of chrome because mine was "outdated" is EXTREMELY shady.

Feb, 2021: Like everything else in 2020, this extension quit working. It was fantastic when it worked. I'm changing my rating from a 5 to a 1 as a cry for attention. April, 2020: I've been using this for a couple of years and it's fantastic. I see zero ads or annotations (which are usually more ads).
Popup hell - uninstall and report to google - VERY shady software - AVOID at all cost
