The conditions to determine which tabs to be disabled can be configured at option page using regular expression based on website's url, otherwise automatic discarding will be turned off for entire tabs by default.
The relevant tabs must be reloaded to be taking effect by this extension.
Note that only "turning off discarding" will be taking care of, which means that this extension never turns it on back once a tab were effected even if the tab doesn't hit the conditions any more.
To turn on the feature again, please configure it manually by visiting browser's discarding setting page.
Also relaunching the browser itself is one of the ways to sync the actual tab's states against the configured conditions.

Disable auto-discard of all tabs or for tabs with specific domains
Unfortunately, it seems to no longer work.
Doesn't work for Facebook.
I added Facebook.com to the list, the icon does not turn red, looks greyed out, Facebook still refreshes the page after I minimize or change tabs, it worked with tabs, but soon as was minimized to use another browser it stopped working... I thought the icon turned Red when 1st enabled it, it is greyed out now, like it needs permissions. Would help if it were updated too... so back to looking for something that works both with tabs and minimizing or opening another browser...
Works great
I was using another extension for disabling auto discard, but it stopped working. This extension works beautifully. Also it can be configured to work on specific sites only, which is very nice. By default it disables discard for all sites. You don't need to configure anything.
Works like a charm
