Product summary

Review the store description, core capabilities, and common use cases.

carbon-llm shows an indicative carbon footprint (grams CO2 equivalent) for each AI chat reply—directly on the page where you chat.

Supported sites include ChatGPT (chatgpt.com), Anthropic Claude (claude.ai), Google Gemini (gemini.google.com), and Mistral Le Chat (chat.mistral.ai).

How it works

The extension reads token usage from provider network responses (for example prompt and completion token counts). It does not upload your conversation text. To compute CO2e, it sends model information and token counts to carbon-llm.com, which runs the same public estimation approach as the carbon-llm API. Your message content stays in your browser.

What you see

A small panel with the estimated CO2e for the current reply, quick tips to reduce impact (shorter prompts, choosing a smaller model when appropriate, reusing a thread instead of duplicating long context), and links to learn more.
