HoverTime

HoverTime helps you quickly understand international times while browsing the web. It automatically detects time and timezone expressions within webpage text and converts them into your local timezone, eliminating the need for manual calculations.

When reading emails, chat messages, documentation, or articles, HoverTime identifies common formats such as “3 PM PST”, “10:00 AM London time”, or “14:30 CET” and displays the corresponding local time inline or in a small tooltip next to the original text. This makes it easier to follow conversations and schedules across different timezones.

HoverTime operates passively and only processes visible page text when enabled by the user or on supported websites and is designed to be lightweight, fast, and non-intrusive. It does not modify webpage content and does not interfere with normal browsing behavior.

The extension scans only visible page text to detect time expressions and converts them using the system’s local timezone. User preferences such as enabled state and display style are saved so the experience remains consistent across browsing sessions.

HoverTime is built with privacy and transparency in mind. Page browsing history is not collected, and page content is processed locally in the browser by default. Optional account features, such as sign-in and subscription status, are supported through secure authentication when the user chooses to use them.
